What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files that a site saves in your browser and that the browser sends back to the site each time you access it.

Local storage (localStorage) is a space in the browser where a site can keep information on your device. Unlike cookies, this information is not sent to the site automatically.

The shopping cart

The shopping cart is kept in the browser’s local storage, under the key “cristall.cart.v1”.

• What it keeps: the products you chose, their quantities and the text or details you wrote for each (for example a stamp’s text), with a copy of each product’s name, price and picture for display.
• When it is created: only when you add a product to the cart.
• How long it stays: until the information is deleted: the cart empties itself once the order is sent, and you can empty it at any time or clear the site’s data in your browser.
• Who can access it: the information stays on your device and is not sent to us; it reaches us only as part of the order request, when you choose to send it.

This storage is strictly necessary for the cart to work, and you use the cart at your own request.

Cookies in the administration area (employees only)

The administration area, used only by the shop’s employees, sets two strictly necessary cookies, for logging in and for protecting its forms. The pages for customers set no cookies.

Why we do not ask for your consent

The law requires consent for storing information in the browser, except for storage that is strictly necessary for a service you have explicitly requested (Law no. 506/2004, Art. 4(5) and (6); Directive 2002/58/EC, Art. 5(3)). The site uses only such storage, which is why it does not show a cookie banner.

If we ever use cookies or other technologies that require consent, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

How to delete cookies and local storage

You can delete cookies and data saved by sites at any time in your browser settings, usually in the privacy section, under an option called “Cookies and site data” or similar. Many browsers let you delete the data of a single site.

Deleting this site’s data empties the shopping cart. For employees, deleting the cookies also means being logged out of the administration area.

If you block data storage for this site in your settings, the shopping cart and logging in to the administration area may not work.
